Kerala, as it is known as Gods Own Country is gifted with all the natures’ beauty. It feels like heaven when you explore this beautiful treasure. There are many secrets hidden inside Kerala with exotic caves and archaeological locales lined up.

Some of the major archaeological sites include :

Maryoor :

This unique place is the only place in India were you would get natural escalation of sandalwood. This site is of great importance for the archaeologists as many relics have been found which dates back to the Stone Age.

Thirthala :

This place is known for its ruins of a gigantic fort with a mysterious moat drawn out from the laterite rock. A visit to the temple of Kattil Madom is a must to have a look at the ancient dome shaped Architecture, which dates back to the 9th and 10th century.

Edakkal :

This cave has drawn much attention from the archaeologists’ world wide because of its gigantic walls, which is assumed to be constructed around five thousand years back. There are many legends and stories attached to this cave.

Vizhinjam Rock Cut Caves :

As the name suggests, it is a rock cut cave with a unique Temple been constructed here which dates back to the 18th century. The carvings of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva are just splendid as it sets an example for the architectural ground of the modern times.
