On the last day of, (Chingam) a Malayalam Month that falls in the month of (August/September), the festival of Athachamayam is held near the famous Tripunithura,a historical town which is near Kochi. This is celebrated on the occasion of the Well-known Victory of Kochi’s Raja. The color and the pomp mark the display which is sated with barded also with a wide array of ethnic art forms, musical ensemble and the elephants. This procession marks the commencement of the Onam Festival.
The people in Kerala celebrate Onam with great enthusiasm and joy filled with gusto. This can be seen during the Athachamayam festival. |
