Athirapally Waterfalls, Kerala, India :

Athirapally Waterfalls is located in Thrissur and is 63 kms away. There are two famous waterfalls Athirapally and Vazhachal that are beautiful and scenic which are situated on the border of the sholayar forest ranges.

Both these waterfalls have a distance of around 5 kms between them. Both are based on the entrance of the Sholayar Ranges. Both waterfalls are very popular among tourists. From Kochi, this waterfall is at a distance of 78 kms and People can reach here easily and is famous as a picnic spot.

According to the tourists who have visited this place, it is one of the most bewitching spots where the waterfall is around 80 ft high and has a thick forest in its surrounding areas.

People come here mostly on weekends to relax their body and soul in the atmosphere which is full of fresh air and greenery. After falling from a height of 80 ft the Athirapally water goes into Chalakkudy River.

From Athirapally waterfall one can take a short drive which will take them to the Vazhachal waterfall. It is full of beautiful sights and is adjacent to a thick green forestland.

Both these waterfalls will give you an amazing experience with its misty waters, cool breeze, and water with the backdrop of rocky terrain and green thick forest.

Tips before Trip :

The trekkers or tourists are required to go in groups so they can help the other members. Take some food along with you. People who are new to trekking should go along the groups who are experienced in trekking. Tourists should carry woolen clothes, good pair of shoes and a stick along with them. Do not throw the left over food any where on the route. Also do not forget to carry a long rope along with you which can help you anywhere if needed.
