By Air : The state has its major international airport at Chennai. The Chennai International Airport is linked with 19 countries with 169 international flights per week. The domestic airports of the state that connect major cities within Tamil Nadu are located in Madurai, Salem and Tuticorin.
By Rail : The railway network of the state is an extensive one and well-laid. The state comes under the supervision of Southern Railway. The main railway stations of Tamil Nadua are Madurai, Chennai, Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) , Coimbatore, and Salem. The sub-urban railway network of Chennai is an a well-established one and the city will soon bring metro railway.
