The planetarium is a heaven for the one, who is interested in knowing about stars, and planets.Birla Planetarium is a hub of all the peculiar phenomena about our solar system and this interests many visitors that also includes students and many audio visuals programmes are organized on different aspects of astronomy. It is one of the best planetariums in the country. The Birla Planetarium is repeatedly visited by students, environmentalists, and tourist.

About the B.M Planetarium :


The Planetarium is home to most sophisticated, versatile and modern GM11 projector. The projector brings out some of the most reverence inspiring heavenly aspect on the fully dedicated penetrated aluminum inner dome. Another important aspect includes that this planetarium is completely computerized and this planetarium can hold strength of 236 Peoples at a time with comfortable seating capacity.

The Show :

Cycle of stars, Sky and season; Man on the moon, Comets, The solar system-are some of the most exciting celestial topics you can avail of. These features have also attracted many visitors and different programs have been framed since this planetarium was originated in the year 1988.

The shows are held in both Tamil and English .The large world revolves all around the shooting meteoroids, rolling contours of mars also known as the red planet, twinkling stars, revolving solar system. The striking show blends well with the captivating night sky of Chennai blooming with stars. These splendid features including all the informative and technological aspects make it the apt choice for the visitors. A visit to the Birla Planetarium is a splendid experience and after you come out of this centre, you are still inside in the world of stars and planets.
