Tamil Nadu Places to see TAMIL NADU WATERFALLS


Tamil Nadu has the perpetual rhythm of the gush, cascading water falls resound from many of the corners to Tamil Nadu. Ecology of Tamil Nadu is very well preserved and maintained along with the nature mother. There are many waterfalls in the region of Tamil Nadu that attracts many of the tourists.

Courtallam Waterfalls :


Courtallam Waterfall is well known as the “Spa of South” is located at an elevation of about 167 kilometers in the Western Ghats. This place is well popular as a health resort. The waterfalls are popular for the recuperative and curative properties. It is located at a distance of 160 kilometers from the south of Madurai. The showers of this cascading water are truly amazing experience. This entire place has nine waterfalls viz - Chitraruvi, Main falls, Shenbegadevi falls, Five falls, Honey Falls, Fruit Falls, Honey FallsTiger Falls, Old Falls and few of the New Falls. The bracing season of the waterfalls includes from the month of June to September. There are various number of rivers that includes Chittar River, Pachaiyar River, the Manimuthar River and the Pachaiyar River and the Tambarapani River have their origin here.

Hognenakkal Waterfall :

Hognenakkal Waterfall is also known as Hogenenakal falls. It is located on the River Kaveri in the South of India. It has its position in the district of Dharmapuri that lies in the southern region of Tamil Nadu. It is situated at the 180 kilometers from the city of Bangalore and 46 kilometers from Dharmapuri. It is also referred as ‘Niagara Fall of India”. Hognenakkal is the most important place for the fame of the medicinal or the herbal bath and also the boat rides. It is one of the important places for the tourist attraction. Carbonite rocks are one of the forms of the rocks that are found in this region and are believed to be one of the oldest forms of this type in the South of Asia. It is also the oldest one. This is amongst all the beautiful sites for the projects of the drinking water and water is also used for the other developing projects.

Tada Waterfalls :


Tada waterfalls are also known as Ubbalamdugu Falls. It is located in the Tada Mandal of the Nellore district of India. It is located at the border of the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It is positioned at the distance of about 95 kilometers from Chennai.

The best period to attend the water fall is from the month of August to the month of December when the rays of the sun are a little bit intense. It is suggested that the worst time to visit the waterfall is from of the month of March to the month of December. The weather here is very pleasant.
