The climate of Goa is always temperate except during the time of monsoon, which continues from June till September. This pleasant climate is the reason why Goa is a favorite spot for all tourists. This pleasant weather is due to the presence of Western Ghats and the costal region of Konkan. The average temperature noted in Goa varies between 25°C - 30°C or 67.96F - 81.56F approximately. The sun rays are present for around 9 to 10 hours during summer and during monsoon it reduces to an average of 3-5 hours.
Monsoon in Goa :
The main feature of climate of Goa is the monsoon season. This wonderful season brings back life to the whole of Goa. The wildlife reserves during monsoon flourishes with rich plants and the forests become thicker than before. The marine animals thrive during this season and offshore fishing can fetch a tourist some of the prized Goan fishes. The natural wonders like waterfalls and springs are on full swing during Monsoon. The two months proceeding monsoon doesn’t show clear sky throughout the day. The sky is often hazy and cloudy. The rainfall in the coast line of Goa is quite high making an average of more than 300 m.
Although climate of Goa is clement throughout the year, yet visits during October to March is enjoyed most by tourists. They can enjoy all sorts of water sports and beaches of Goa also make a comfortable area to relax. |
