Hemachandracharya Jain Gnan Mandir is very famous place to visit in Patan. Hemachandracharya is a renowned Jain scholar and poet he is credited for the formulation of Gujurati grammar. His treatise ‘Siddhi Hema Shabdansuhasana’ was written during the rule of Siddharaj Jayasingh and is seen as a matching part to Panni’s thesis on Sanskrit grammar. The poet built this Gyan Temple which means “knowledge temple” which is an ancient library that includes a number of ancient palm-leaf Jain manuscripts in which some were written using gold ink.

Hemachandracharya Jain Gnan Mandir  is a renounced place with other places like Ambaji Temple and Rani ki Vav. This place Patan is located on the banks of river Saraswati, the place was founded in 746 AD by the Chavada King, Vanraj Chavda. This city was also being served as the capital of Gujarat for about 600 years, from 746 AD to 1411 AD. The rulers of Patan were great lovers of art and architecture so the city is very famous for its auspicious architecture.
