Sahyadri Mountains are as beautiful as its trekking features. Sahyadri hills contain forests and lakes and it is also popular because of its famous ancient forts and the caves belonging to Buddhist religion. Maharashtra state's western ghat is totally known as the Sahyadri ranges, this mountain's name Sahydari is come from the Maharashtra state's regional language Marathi. This Sahyadri hills are not really high but this hills are tremendously rugged, people get scared by climbing on the Sahyadri Mountain, it is actually a challengeable mountain trekking for the passionate trekkers. Trekking on the Sahyadri means  reaching in the medieval period of the forts. Sahyadri Mountain is undoubtedly the finest trekking point which is surrounded by the attractive and pleasant atmosphere.  To reach at the Sahyadri region, there is east access available from the important cities of Maharashtra such as Nashik, Pune and Mumbai. Sahyadri ranges of mountain are not as big as the Himalayas. But it is a  tremendous trekking point. Because of the geographical structure, the Sahyadri Mountain's peak of Maharashtra is really blessed by priceless properties like more than fifty hilarious rock, and more than two hundred forts and also a few forest forts which are in the rain forest, which provides a golden opportunity to the trekkers who come in the weekends, for trekking on this mountain. Trekkers can see here the mixture of forts, forest, historical caves, peaks and rocks which made this Sahyadri Mountain more attractive. There is no other trekking place which provides this type of mixture in any corner of the world.

Harishchndragad :


This ancient fort is very  popular because of its toughness and also for height; and for Konkan Kada. Near the fort, there is a temple called Hrishchandragad temple, people say that this temple is known as a pride of this Harishchandragad fort. Within this temple, there are Shivling and Nandi, which are really beautiful. Near to this temple, there is a cave, which always has very cold water. This fort is very famous within the trekkers and also the lover of the nature, because this comes in the list of best fort for trekking. Here, a very dangerous challenge is waiting for the trekker, that is Konkan Kada, the height of this Konkan fort is almost three thousand five hundred feet. There are three peaks in Harishchandragad fort such as Taramati, Rohidas and Harishchandra. Within this peaks, the highest peak is Taramati peak. From this place, you will get to see many forts, peaks, many beautiful places like Jivdhan, Ratangad, Nane Ghat, Malshej Ghat, Kalsubai. All these places, can be viewed by standing on this one place. Trekkers who visit this place, get lucky to see the wild animals, around this fort such as snakes, tigers, swallow, cheetah and flamingos and other animals.

Vasota :

This hill forest is situated in the region of Koyna and it is among the very few fort forest of Maharashtra state. To reach this fort and to experience the feel of this fort, people have to cross the magical and very calm lake which is known as Shiv Sagar Lake, through the boat. Vasota fort forest is located in the middle of the dense forest, that’s why before visiting this fort, people have to take permission; because without permission, you cannot enter in the fort. The entire Vasota fort is surrounded by the dense forest, the view of this fort is really amazing and fabulous. To experience the trekking on the cave of Nageshwar,you would need to spend a night.
