The beautiful serene waters allows you to let down and relax in the cool sands of the beach, and lets you loose yourself in the simple beauty of the place. Though the waters are not exactly advisable for a cool swim, they still present a magnificent view that allows you to enjoy either long leisure walks or just a freshening nap on the sea shore of this evergreen beach.

The significant feature that one has to look forward in this beach is the year round Hindu festivals taking part here at the sea shores. Some of the major festivals include the coconut festival and the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival where the idol of lord Ganesha is immersed in the sea. All these include a huge set of dancing and chanting, and still it survives as one of the most favourite beaches of Bombay, by both tourists and locals.
It is a whirl wind of colours in the evening, when the sun finally decides to rest, the beautiful beach comes alive with its various attractions comprising of Ferris wheel rides for children, wayside fortune tellers, and monkey shows along with amazing gymnastic feats performed live. One must never miss to eat the delicious street food comprising of Sevpuri, Bhelpuri etc. a lucky few might also get a glimpse at some of their favourite Bollywood stars amidst a live film shoot etc. |
