Established in the year 1977, Nehru Planetarium is one of the four planetariums that have been opened in India and are named after the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The place is extremely popular among astronomers and researchers who have an avid interest in exploring the mysteries of space.
Nehru Planetarium is built in cylindrical shape with its center adorned with a ravishing white dome. The place has several attractions like galleries, exhibits, Cultural center and many others. The planetarium was designed by J. M. Kadri, the famous Indian architect. The captivating audio-visual displays, movies, and static images catch the fancy of the visitors. Informative movies are shown in an auditorium that is also a venue for shows and concerts. Not only this, it is the meeting place of scholars from all over India who take part in informative discourses and meetings that take place here.
