Waterfalls, the destination where every individual person wishes to go and enjoy their holiday in high waterfalls and get the lifetime experience. Waterfalls of Maharashtra attracts many visitors every year. This is such a destination where you wish to visit again and again as the spirit of the water is never ending. The Beauty of nature with the breathtaking sights of water makes these waterfalls famous among youngsters. Dudhsagar waterfalls, Thoseghar waterfall, Lingmala falls, Dhobi waterfall, Chinaman’s waterfall, and Chinchoti waterfalls, Bhandardara waterfall are some of the famous waterfalls of Maharashtra. Mahabaleshwar town has many places to visit but some people come only in rainy season to view these waterfalls, among which are Lingmala falls, Dhobi waterfall and Chinaman’s are mostly visited. The Chinchoti waterfalls in Vasai and Dhudsagar waterfall in Nashik and Thoseghar waterfall near Satara are the most popular places for picnic among the people of Maharashtra.

Dudhsagar waterfalls, is a favorite destination among youngsters, teenagers, tourists where they often visit to ignite the adventurous spirits in them. This is situated in Someshwar and is one of the best spots in Nashik which has picturque scenery. The name Dudhsagar waterfalls is inspired from the milky white water. The waterfall is 10m long and is enjoyed by everyone who visits there.

Thoseghar waterfall is a new developing picnic spot. Thoseghar is near Satara and is really a wonderful place where people can enjoy the beauty of nature. This place is famous for its serenity, quite and calms nature. The best season to visit Thoseghar is from July to November. This hilly region becomes more beautiful with the dark woods and clean Lake. There are some small waterfalls which are around 15-20m high and the highest waterfall is around 500m.

The glittering waterfall of Lingmala waterfalls is at its best in monsoon and is just 6 km away from Mahabaleshwar. The water here plunges from a height of around 600 ft and is situated at the top of Veena Lake.

Dhobi waterfall, a must see place in Mahabaleshwar. It is 3 km away from the town and is a famous picnic spot there. The either side of the fall appears to be green as the sides are filled with rocks and due to leafage it appears green. This makes the place more beautiful and picturesque. This is a perfect picnic spot whether be with a family or want a romantic gateway. A Sunday afternoon usually has crowd of families coming, and enjoying a nice time against the amazing Dhobi waterfalls.

Chinaman’s waterfall is situated in Mahabaleshwar .It is on the carviali road and can also be reached by Tiger Path road or from Babington point. While getting to this area the woods around gives a pleasant feeling. Before Chinese convicts used to cultivate the adjoining fields, so this place is named as the Chinaman’s waterfall.

Chinchoti waterfall is at the center of a thick forest which flows continuously from June to October. This waterfall is situated in Vasai which is one of the stations of Mumbai’s local ssssssy line of the Western Track. This place is mostly visited by youngsters through Kaman village on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. There is also a jungle path through Tungareshwar which is only known to few visitors. The 125 feet long waterfall will make a mark in your life and will make you remember for the life time. The sound of watercourses will make your ears wide open and make you feel like heaven. The Journey to Chinchoti waterfall has created a thrilling experience for many visitors and the waterfall is been a true beauty to them.

Bhandardara waterfall is a perfect tourist spot for a one day picnic. It is very close to cities like Mumbai and Nashik. The waterfall is filled with its rural charm so the modern comforts are not available there. In such a place you can enjoy the charm of the rural place and make your body relaxed. There are two waterfalls which will give you the true beauty of nature. This place can be visited any time in the year but the best time would be from July to September. The accommodation is limited as there are no such big hotels.
