Thoseghar Waterfall - Satara, Maharashtra!

Thoseghar waterfall is a new developing picnic spot. Thoseghar is near Satara and is really a wonderful place where people can enjoy the beauty of nature. It is famous for its high waterfalls. People have a good time by walking down the slippery falls and playing with water.

Sightseeing in Thoseghar :

This place is famous for its serenity, quite and calms nature. The best season to visit Thoseghar is from July to November. This hilly region becomes more beautiful with the dark woods and clean Lake. There are some small waterfalls which are around 15-20m high and the highest waterfall is around 500m.

The large windmill project in India is just 5km away from Thoseghar village, in the chalkewadi. Several windmills are there as a part of the project. This windmill farm gives a unique view and a great experience.

Food :

If you love to eat non-veg food, than this might excite you. Visitors can enjoy home made food by giving orders to some of the small houses turned hotels here. You can either order it or buy the fresh raw meat and can give them to cook food. They also give Indian bread like Roti or Bhakri as you wish to order. You can then place the order and can go to see the waterfall. So when you come back after the thrilling experience of waterfall and you are shivering then this hot & delicious curry can make you feel like heaven.

Transportation :
 
Railway : Satara Railway station is well connected with most of the cities. Satara station is about 50km away from Thoseghar.

Road : Satara is 115km away from Pune and is on the Pune - Bangalore highway. Bus services are frequently available from Satara and it takes around three hours drive to reach Thoseghar which is 30-40km away. Visitors can hire a taxi from Satara to reach Thoseghar waterfall. Some of the other places on the way which can be visited are Sajjangad and Parali dam.

Local transport : Local taxi from Satara is available to the tourist.
